Celebrating Excellence in Food Safety: 10 Pioneers Earn the Certified SQF Practitioner Credential

In today’s fast-paced food industry, maintaining stringent safety protocols is paramount to protecting public health and  ensuring product quality.

The Certified SQF Practitioner Credential, offered by SQFI, is a prestigious milestone that recognizes professionals who have dedicated themselves to advancing food safety standards. First off is Krishna Adhikari from Barbell Foods in Hume, ACT, Australia. His innovative strategies and steadfast commitment to quality have elevated food safety practices on an international scale, proving that excellence knows no borders. 

Next in alphabetical order is Patrick Dvorachek of Cedar Grove Warehouse in Plymouth, WI, USA. Patrick’s expertise in logistics and storage is vital for ensuring that products remain safe, secure, and uncompromised from warehouse to consumer, reinforcing the backbone of a safe food supply chain. 

From New Zealand, Jimmy Hassett of Prolife Foods Limited in Pukete, Waikato, exemplifies how traditional food processing can harmonize with modern safety innovations. His forward-thinking approach continuously enhances production methods while safeguarding product integrity. Reflecting on his motivation to earn the credential, Jimmy explains, "I earned the credential because it confirms our commitment to food safety and continuous improvement. It empowers us to benchmark our practices against the highest industry standards, ensuring that every process and product meets rigorous safety requirements."

Jonathan Jasinski from Marvel Produce in Valley Cottage, NY, USA, stands as a testament to the importance of meticulous food safety and quality controls in fresh produce. His diligent oversight ensures that each product meets the rigorous standards expected by today’s health-conscious consumers. 

Representing Canada, Afsheen Khan of Mother Parker's Tea and Coffee, Inc. in Mississauga, ON, champions food safety in the beverage sector. By implementing robust food safety and quality controls, Afsheen guarantees that every cup brewed embodies a promise of excellence. 

Donna Moore of Morinaga America Foods, Inc. in Mebane, NC, USA, leverages her extensive expertise to instill consumer confidence through rigorous safety protocols. Her leadership fosters transparency and accountability across her organization. 

Renee McVey from Redbarn Pet Products in Great Bend, KS, USA, highlights that stringent safety measures extend beyond human food to include pet products, ensuring comprehensive protection across all consumables. 

Now marking a significant achievement in Europe, Melissa McWethy of Tate & Lyle in London, England, exemplifies how global leaders integrate world-class safety practices into their operations. Her work reinforces the universal importance of food safety standards. 

Continuing the commitment to excellence, Qiang Zheng from Monogram Foods in Tewksbury, MA, USA, drives continuous improvement in safety protocols through innovation and dedication to best practices. 

Lastly, Michael Zachary of Blackhawk Molding in Mayflower, AR, USA, plays a pivotal role in advancing food safety through cutting-edge packaging solutions that protect product integrity from production to consumer. 

I’m incredibly proud of the Certified SQF Practitioner Credential because it not only validates our dedication to food safety but also inspires continuous improvement across the industry. 

Together, these 10 trailblazers are setting a new standard in the food safety arena, inspiring innovation and a steadfast commitment to excellence that resonates throughout the global industry.

The development of the Certified SQF Practitioner credential was made possible through a robust collaboration between SQFI and Exemplar Global. For 15 years, SQFI and Exemplar Global have been strong partners, administering the SQF Food Safety Auditor program with and for SQFI.
